Slovak Government Approves Treaty on European Stabilisation Mechanism

Slovakia will contribute €659.2 million to the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). The Slovak government approved the creation of ESM on Wednesday. To come into force the treaty must be ratified by Slovak Parliament and the president. Economic Freedom in Slovakia Worsened in 2010 due to Corruption
January 25, 2011.The economic freedom in Slovakia worsened last year, the 2011 Index of Economic Freedom released by the Heritage Foundation says. Slovakia dropped two spots from last year while its overall score has decreased by 0.2 point, mainly as a result of declines in freedom from corruption and property rights. A year ago the country gained 0.3 points.

Russian Nuclear Fuel Fabricator TVEL to Supply Fuel for New Slovakian Reactors
April 13, 2010.Russian nuclear fuel fabricator TVEL has signed a contract with Slovakia’s Slovenské Electrárne (SE) to supply fuel for units 3 and 4 of the Mochovce nuclear power plant, currently under construction. The contract covers the period from 2012 to 2017.
